The Kings finally received word last night that their game with Vancouver on Sunday will begin at 5pm pacific on Fox Sports West. This means that Bob Miller and Jim Fox will be back on TV, calling all the action for Kings Fans.
This morning, the Kings practiced for about an hour at the Toyota Sports Center before catching a flight North to Vancouver. Other than presumed scratches Westgarth, Loktionov and Parse (who wore purple jerseys), the forwards were split in half with the top two lines in white and the bottom two lines wearing grey jerseys. There was one exception that I witnessed, however, with Dwight King in grey.
I’m not sure why this occurred. Usually, lines are split by jersey color, meaning there are typically 4 colors worn by forwards. Could King’s jersey change mean possible line changes for tomorrow’s game? Maybe. Or it could mean nothing at all. Interesting nonetheless.
Also noteworthy, Darryl Sutter spent quite a long time talking with his defensive corps after the main part of practice, as seen above. It’s not hard to imagine the discussion involved talk of how better to contain the Sedin Twins.
