The LA Kings farm club, the Manchester Monarchs, are in the home stretch of their regular season. With only 11 games left, they are fighting for their playoff lives.

The week started on Wednesday with a 0-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets affiliate, the 2nd place Springfield Falcons from Massachusetts. That shutout gave the Monarchs just 1 goal in their previous 3 games. Do you think they’re missing Toffoli right about now? For a full recap of this game, click here…

Credit the Monarchs for rebounding on Saturday with a strong comeback effort, beating the Washington Captial’s farm club, the Hershey Bears from Pennsylvania, 6-4. After going down 3-0, it looked like Manchester was in for a beating when the Monarchs roared back with 5 straight goals from Kings prospects Andy Andreoff, Jordan Weal, Linden Vey and 2 goals from tryout-player Colton Yellow Horn. Vey later scored again with an empty netter. The coveted win pulled the Monarchs within 2 points of 8th place Hershey going into Sunday’s matchup. For a full recap of this game, click here…

Highlights: Manchester 6, Hershey 4

The Monarchs were poised to earn another much needed win on Sunday when they faced the lowly 14th place St. John’s IceCaps, the Winnipeg Jets AHL team. Goals from Linden Vey, Brandon Kozun and Marc-Andre Cliche proved insufficient, however, as goalie Martin Jones gave up 4. The loss leaves the Monarchs in 10th place and 4 points out of 8th. Defenseman Nick Deslauriers has three assists in his last two games. For a full recap, click here.

Since Tyler Toffoli’s call up, the club has won just 2 games out of 7.

Ouch, looks like Monarchs are really hurting without their top sniper.

Is Pearson back in the game yet, just out of curiosity?

    • Paul Armbruster

Nope, still injured along with Stefan Legein.

This is just not a good season for either Manch or LA with injuries hitting them in critical areas. Thanks, Paul! :)
