Former King Randy Jones scores game winner vs. Monarchs

Friday night’s Manchester Monarchs game was a “downer” according to Coach Morris. For former Kings defenseman Randy Jones, it turned out to be a pretty good night as he scored the second goal of a 4-1 win for the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes farm club.

Jones, who played 48 games for the Kings back in 2010 did not play a game in the NHL last year. He signed a professional tryout agreement with the Pirates at the end of last month.

Scott Sabourin was the lone goal scorer for the listless Monarchs who still lead the Eastern conference. Here’s the full game report on Friday’s loss…
