A (belated) introduction of the new LA Kings Insider…

It was mid-afternoon on a game day in Los Angeles that word came of a new Captain appointed to helm of the ever-popular LAKingsInsider.com blog. The press release appeared on the Kings main site but not on the blog itself. The blog, which had been managed by various Kings staff for 114 days since Rich Hammond’s sudden departure, posted its first story by the new Insider Jon Rosen at 2:19pm. It wasn’t until the next morning (and 9 blogs later) that Jon finally made a formal introduction to Kings fans.

“In the hustle to get some content out before last night’s game, I neglected to post my introduction. So, without further delay… Hello! I’m Jon Rosen, the new writer and editor at LAKingsInsider.com.”

And just like that, LAKI 2.0 was officially launched. Rosen, who has a wide-ranging career in hockey, is both a talented writer and speaker. He was play-by-play announcer for number of minor league teams as well as a hockey writer for FOX Sports. To his credit, despite an inherent conflict of interest, he plans on continuing independent coverage of the team just as Hammond did before him.

“I’m looking forward to continuing that objective and accountable analysis and am beyond excited to hit the ground running on a busy weekend. As I become more comfortable with this platform and the rhythm of providing regular updates and analysis, I’ll be looking to develop my voice on this site…”
